Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Botulinum Toxin (Botox) a neurotoxin that helps relax muscle activity to soften or stop lines and wrinkles from forming. 

Botox is injected into specific muscles whereby it blocks the chemical signal (acetylcholine) sent from the nerves to the muscles. This means that the muscle is put into a temporary state of relaxation softening the wrinkles on the skin. 

Usually, the results of Botox will begin to appear within a few days after the procedure. However, it can take up to 14 days to take full effect and see visible results. 

On average Botulinum Toxin last 3-4 months. It is completely normal to require treatments every 3 months in the first 2 years. Over time it tends to last longer and patients that have been doing it for some time come every 6 months. If you are doing it more for prevention and don’t mind a few lines, you can come every 6-9 months. 

The first signs of ageing start around the age of 25. Dynamic wrinkles are those that appear when a muscle contracts, static lines are those that start to appear even when the muscle is rested. We want to prevent static wrinkles appearing later in life as these are much more difficult to treat. If you start seeing static lines on the skin when your face is relaxed we would recommend booking in for a treatment. 

In order to achieve a natural look, you will have an in-depth consultation prior to the treatment and together we can decide on a treatment plan. My aim is to smoothen out fine lines and eliminate wrinkles without leaving your face completely frozen and expressionless. 

Sometimes clients may require a top up to ensure they have the perfect results. We will conduct a 2-week review on day 14 of your treatment and asses if a top up is required. This is free of charge. 

Dermal fillers are soft injectable gels consisting of stabilised hyaluronic acid, a biodegradable substance naturally found in the body. Hyaluronic acid is a component of the skin that keeps it hydrated and gives out elasticity and volume. 

Dermal fillers are used to help restore volume loss to the face. Over time we loss fat pads causing facial sagging, poor skin elasticity, hollowness and visible shadowing. Fillers can be used to define the shape of certain facial features, such as lips. We can use them to enhance facial contours, accentuating features such as the cheekbones and jawline to create a more chiseled and structured face. 

Dermal filler can last from 6-24 months depending on a number of factors such as the area treated and particular filler used. However, this is an average time and for some people, the filler may dissolve more quickly because of their metabolism and for some people it may last longer. We find that with subsequent treatments, the results often last longer. After the first 3 sessions you may find you do not need to come back for a couple of years. 

A full facial assessment will be carried out and only recommended treatments that are guaranteed to harmonise facial features, increase symmetry and add balance. You will have an in-depth consultation prior to the treatment and together we can decide on a treatment plan. If you have a history of anaphylaxis or allergy to wasp stings, fillers may not be suitable for you. This is because you are likely to be allergic to the filler dissolving enzyme. We always have to ensure we are able to dissolve the filler in an emergency. 

We only work with the highest quality of dermal fillers, all of which blend with the tissue under the skin creating a soft natural result that does not affect facial expressions. 

We use numbing cream and only start the treatment once you feel completely numb. The dermal fillers we offer have a local anaesthetic (lidocaine) incorporated to minimise discomfort. If you are allergic to lidocaine we can use fillers that do not contain this ingredient. 

Aqualyx is one of the most popular and effective fat removal and body sculpting procedures. It is for those who want to loose fat at stubborn areas of the body. The human body naturally stores excess energy as subcutaneous fat, and our genetics determine the distribution of these fatty deposits under the skin.
Aqualyx is a gel based aqueous solution, which dissolves localised fat under the skin. It is a biocompatible and biodegradable product. 

Aqualyx is injected into the subcutaneous layer, it destabilises the fat cell membranes causing the permanent dissolution fat cells. A reduction in fat deposits becomes visible within three to four weeks, as the fat cells are released and removed naturally via the lymphatic system.

It liquifies the treated fat cells destroying it permanently by releasing the lipids that are then eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system.

A reduction in fat deposits can usually be seen after just one treatment, however between three and eight sessions are required to see the optimal results. The speed at which the results are seen will vary depending on the stability of cell membranes 

Typically Aqualyx fat dissolving injections will need to be repeated between 2 to 8 times, depending on the fat deposits, chosen area, and how well your body responds to each treatment.
We recommend that Aqualyx injections are repeated every 3 to 4 weeks until you achieve the maximum fat loss possible in the treated area

Aqualyx injections cannot be administered if you are; pregnant, or breastfeeding, immunocompromised, have liver or kidney damage or if you have skin infections or irritation.

Because Aqualyx is a non surgical treatment (no incision or stitches required) there are no general aesthetic risks and scarring is very unlikely. People treated with Aqualyx will typically experience minimal side effects. There is likely to be swelling, bruising and tenderness which can last up to 7 days after the treatment.

We send a thorough aftercare email to all of our patients but please find a summary below;

1. Do not apply any cosmetics to the treated area within a 12 hour period
2. Avoid all direct sources of heat and radiation for 48 hours e.g. sunlight, UV radiation, saunas
3. You should also abstain from particular demanding physical exercise for 7 days
4. Drink lots of water
5. As the released fatty acids are converted into additional energy, it is especially important that you keep a healthy diet, otherwise your body will simply store the fat in an alternative fat depot

We inject Profhilo in specific areas of the face. Once injected it slowly spreads under the skin over a period of 1-2 days and stimulates the production of your own collagen and elastin, attracting water into deeper layers of the skin.

We recommend 2 treatments 4-6 weeks apart with a top up treatment every 6 months.
You will see visible improvements after the first 4 days but it takes 4 weeks for the product to diffuse properly (first session) and another 4 weeks following the second session to be fully optimal. Results last 6-9 months depending on skin laxity, therefore one follow-up session is required every 6 months for maintenance

1. You may have redness and bruising is possible and may take a few days to appear. Arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising
2. Avoid wearing make-up 12 hours after treatment
3.Avoid sunbathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post treatment
4. Avoid vigorous exercise for 48 hours
5. Contact clinic if redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days.
